Hello!
I am a new mom and my little girl is just one month, I have been using the medela freestyle as a primary pump and just came to learn that this is not good. I just got the spectra pump, but the amount of parts that this pump comes with is ridiculous. I love the medela cups, and I am able to use them with the spectra pump; but, I am wondering if there's a difference between using cup collectors and using the flange , valve connector and milk bottle?
Yes, there is a BIG difference. Traditional flanges tend to empty better that cups for most people. You are only a month so would not take that chance with your supply this soon before you know what it will be. After 12 weeks, you typically know what you will get and if you get less than that then you know the cups did not empty as well. But you can do what you think is best for you, but just want you to make an informed decision. Others can feel free to chime in as well.
