How to find your ideal sweet spot?
The ideal sweet spot is the intersection between the amount of pumps per day and your mental capacity.
The goal is to provide at least enough milk for baby, but some families make the informed choice to pump less than baby and supplement with formula before age 1. This can be considered at any point in your journey.
I mainly discuss the sweet spot after age 1 because the amount of breastmilk intake for toddlers decrease to about 16-24 ounces per day.
This takes a lot of stress off families and can determine how much to pump if you decide pump after age 1.
Again, this can be considered at any point on your pumping journey.
