My husband helps with cleaning bottles and pump parts, making sure I have snacks and drinks, and is there to talk through things with me when I need to. He’s a voice of reason to my obsessiveness! He also helps with feedings, which our older daughter also helps with.
Our circle is also amazing. We went on a planned camping trip at 5 weeks postpartum, and everyone just wanted to know how they could help. When my girlfriends realize I’m pumping in public, they’re always encouraging and cheer me on! I didn’t choose to exclusively pump, and sometimes I still get upset that I am not able to nurse, but having supportive friends and family has made it so much easier.
