Nursing & Pumping

Public·203 members

Hey everyone! I've been exclusively breastfeeding my son for 4 months (whew, it's been a journey but I am so proud). Since nursing & pumping I have been able to build up a nice stash. While I'm living proof that doing both is possible it can be challenging, how do you mamas manage both? Do you still pump at the same rate when your baby is cluster feeding?

Same as Lindsayjsnyder7. I don't know if you would call this cluster feeding, but my almost 5 month baby is now taking 150-180ml each at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm. That's one full breast each feed. So I do bottle breast milk at 6pm, 1 breast at 7pm and the other breast at 8pm. I make sure to give him the comfort of the breast for his bedtime. My breasts are tapped out by that point. I usually don't pump after that until between 12am and 3am when I wake up again. I have to give myself that break as I'm only human.
